Fenlong-Ridging Deep Tillage Integrated with Biochar and Fertilization to Improve Sugarcane Growth and Yield

Sugarcane yield in China is low because of the shallow A-horizon soil layer, or as it commonly called by farmers, “plow layer”, well organic matter and fertilizer utilization efficiency. Fenlong-ridging deep tillage (FT), also vertical rotary tillage, amendment with biochar have been shown to improve quality crop yield. In this study, field trials were conducted newly planted ratoon sugarcane evaluate effectiveness FT, together nitrogen fertilization, The treatments conventional chemical without (CT-CF, which was control experiment), FT (FT-CF), mixed (CT-CFB), (FT-CFB). FT-CFB treatment presented higher porosity, contents available N, P, K, total matter, lower bulk density. Similarly, results showed that root fresh dry weights, germination percentage, tiller number, statistically significant differences among for both plants.
